Consultant/Motivator/Speaker/Trainer

Joyce Morgan Danford could be called “the dream consultant” combining nearly twenty years of media experience and eleven years of Image Consulting to help clients create a total package. Helping client de-stress is a part of her work as an Image and Spa Consultant with BeautiControl Cosmetics. She uses her media experience to help prepare clients for television and other appearances. With a passion for image, the media, and public speaking, becoming an entrepreneur was a natural extension of her time in front of the camera.

Danford is also in the spotlight in her role as a Motivation Speaker working for major corporations like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, the NFL, Jacksonville Housing Authority, The S-B-A, Convergys, CSX, Wachovia, Upward Bound, and Pace Center for Girls to name a few.

She continues her work as a sought after talent, completing assignments for such clients as FCCJ, Florida’s State Health Department, and WJXT-CH 4.

Danford was born in Pineville Louisiana, but her father’s military career took the family to Oklahoma, Alabama, Germany and finally Georgia. Danford earned her B.S. in Secondary Education at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville ALABAMA.

Upon graduating, Danford worked five careers before broadcasting. Starting in banking and later working for Johnson and Johnson, JC Penney, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and as a professional model before beginning 21 years as a television personality. In fact some of Danford’s early clients include Delta Airlines and Coca Cola. From a talk show host to news anchor and reporter, she has taken turns with a multitude of assignments in Jacksonville, FL with both WJXT-TV4 and WJKS-TV17. She was an anchor in Macon, GA; Dallas, TX; and Atlanta, GA where she got her big break in 1983. She was chosen from a field of more than 4,000 applicants to co-host the Emmy award winning show “PM Magazine.” Since then, she has interviewed countless celebrities, from royalty to bishops, from presidents to entertainers and pro athletes.

Joyce’s contributions to North Florida extend from the Mayor’s Film and Television Advisory Board to organizations like Women Business Owners of North Florida, and PTA Board Member for Ft. Caroline Elementary. She has also served as a board member for the First Tee Program of North Florida, the Children’s Home Society, the American Diabetes Association, the Hope Bartlett Memorial Foundation. Joyce will compete locally with Jacksonville’s version of “Dancing with the Stars” May 5th at the Prime Osborn.

She has honors ranging from broadcast to community service awards including – the Girl Scouts Women of Distinction, Community Connections (YWCA) Leadership Award, and the WCGL Outstanding Leadership Award. Danford has also held the distinction of Media Woman of the Year in Atlanta GA. Joyce is married to Richard Danford Ph.D. CEO of the Jacksonville Urban League. They have three children and attend Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.
